The short answer is – it’s pretty messy. Roof replacement involves stripping off your current roofing materials, removing them from your property, and installing new ones. As with any construction project, there’s a certain amount of noise and mess involved with a new roof, even when steps are taken to mitigate them.
Here at Dagmar Pros, we understand how hectic your daily life already is; that’s why we always do everything we can to minimize the chaos of this project. Read on to learn what to expect during a roof replacement project.
Roof Tear-Off
The first stage of a roof replacement is also the messiest – the tear-off of your existing roof. This involves removing your roofing materials and putting them into a trailer or dumpster. To prevent the mess from reaching your lawn, a tarp may also be laid down to catch nails, asphalt granules, and other debris. However, some debris may still make it to your yard. This will be cleaned up when the project is complete.
New Roof Construction
The tear-off is definitely the messiest part of the roof replacement process, but there will be a certain amount of mess as the new roof materials are staged and put in place. Once your new roof is in place and the project is complete, we’ll haul away any unused materials and make sure your yard is cleaned up before we leave. Our customers are our neighbors, so we make sure they’re treated right.
Mitigating Construction Mess
No matter what type of construction you’re dealing with, it’s always going to be loud and messy. Dagmar Pros understands how stressful this can be, so we do everything we can to minimize that stress. We take all the necessary precautions to reduce the mess we make in the first place, and we clean up after ourselves when we’re done with your project.
Can I Stay in My Home During Roof Replacement?
Your roof replacement shouldn’t interfere with your day-to-day life – aside from the necessary noise and mess. Your Dagmar Pros technician will let you know about any safety considerations to be aware of, but you should be able to go about your day as normal – just avoid the construction area as there may be sharp debris on the ground nearby.
During the work process, there will be noise as our technicians move around on your roof, remove old materials, and hammer new ones into place.
